This is a live video recording of Not necessarily music (the first half of the 2018 performance in the Krook library (Ghent) by Ana Filipa Botelho (wind controller) and Quentin Meurisse (keyboard)). The recording was made with a tablet on a fixed point, the video quality isn't very good.
Short notes on this video recording:
At the start the performance is purely visual: the keyboard player is playing a private performance, only audible for himself.
After one minute the field microphones, picking up live, outdoor environmental sounds around the performance space, become audible for the audience headphones.
After three minutes the second performer (wind instrument, wind controller) enters while the first performer continues the private performance.
After 6'30'' both performers play 'together' but use the live field microphones as common inspiration.
At 10'10'' performer 2 begins a private performance, she does not hear performer 1 or the field microphones. In this section the only thing the audience hears through headphones are filtered sounds from the live field microphones, triggered by (some) notes of the private performance of performer 2
